Friends, family, and labyrinth enthusiasts to the Lone Eagle Labyrinth Project.
I invite you to share and walk with me on this journey of self-discovery and
the path of communication and deepened relationship with God. My web site
is intended to be a tool along your path. I hope on these pages you find the
information and links you are seeking.
Earlier on my journey, I pursued a path of career, business, and the fast paced life that seems to come on like a whirlwind with no end. Everyday was filled to capacity. I remember it well.
Then one day the opportunity came to sell my business of 20 years and thanks to my understanding husband, I was able to retire. I wanted so much to be able to take one year and not think about work. And I did just that. As I look back on that year, I now know that it was more of a sabbatical than a retirement.
I immersed myself into daily prayer and meditation and just listened to what God had in store for me for the second half of my life. I prayed daily for my eyes to see what business or line of work or career I should focus on. Nothing came. Nothing touched my soul and so I took this as my answer: I wasnt to pursue anything at this time.
On some days, I felt the urge to get back into the business world and I will never forget my sisters words, ... just say no.
My focus was to go within. To be still. To be silent. As Pascal is noted for saying, All of mans problems stem from his not being able to sit quietly alone in a room."
I found a profound sense of peace. My soul wanted and needed this time. I didnt need to be doing anything. Just be. I fought with the guilt of not accomplishing something. All of my life I had been so busy doing and being successful meant doing something. Or does it?
Sue Gantz introduced me to the labyrinth at a yoga retreat at 3D Wellness. I loved it. Walking the labyrinth provided a space for prayer and contemplation. It's a walking meditation that has become an extension of my spiritual life. I sought out other local labyrinths to walk. I read about their symbolic history from early Christianity. I learned about how to use the labyrinth as a tool to deepen our relationship with the Divine.
Things soon began to happen. Several coincidental meetings, unplanned opportunities, serendipity. It soon became apparent something was happening in my life. I was not in control. I found passion in this tool called a labyrinth and what it represented. It touched my soul.
It is so amazing to me how guided we are if we will only allow God to work through us. This is a life of faith. I hope that my new path in life will assist in opening a door for you to find that special place... that sacred space that we all have access to. All we have to do is go there and take those first steps, to enter onto the path.
If you experience peace and relaxation, or release a burden, then your time spent walking the labyrinth will be worthwhile. If, however, a door opens to a deeper connection with your soul, my life's work will be realized.
Blessings
along your Path,
